Blog: FAQ on shipping

Dear SHOSU friends,

We often get the same questions about shipping, so we wrote this FAQ blog to help answer most relevant questions. Of course, if there are any other question, don’t hesitate to ask and send us an email at shop@shosu.nl


How long does it take to receive my order?
That may vary a lot, within the European Union, Europe and the UK anywhere between 2 and 6 working days after we ship it. Outside Europe it can take longer, 2-4 weeks is pretty much standard. But honesty is in place here, in these COVID times, it can sometimes take longer.

How often do you ship?
In most cases we ship twice a week, on Monday and on Friday. When we have a lot of backorders (due to preorders or something) we ship as soon as possible.  


How do I track my package?
Once your order is shipped, you’ll receive an automated email from us containing your tracking information. With every step and scan in the shipping process you will receive an email, keeping you updated.

Do you ship in discreet packaging?
Discretion is top priority. We will ensure that your package is delivered as discreetly as possible. Don’t worry about boxes printed with the SHOSU mark. All orders are shipped in a plain recyclable brown cardboard box. The shipping label will identify the shipper as “Verboeket fulfilment” and not SHOSU Amsterdam. 

To which countries do you ship?
We ship to all countries in the world but due to the nature of our products some countries’ customs might not accept our goods or will take the opportunity to abuse or otherwise mistreat the package. 
So therefore, packages to some countries are not covered by insurance. For a list of those countries, check our ‘Orders and Delivery’ policy.

Do you ship to PO boxes?
Our shipping platform can ship to DHL and DPD PO boxes. If you have another form of PO box, please send us an email at shop@shosu.nl before ordering.

Do you have any express shipping options available?
Our products are mostly quite heavy and offering express shipping options, would not only make it more expensive, it would also require an extra load on our fulfilment.

Can you combine the shipping of orders?
In case of some very rare cases, we can. But we are not very fond of it. It’s a manual process which is very sensitive to errors. So please order smart!

Why is postage and packing so costly? 
First because the actual shipping is costly. And the amount we charge our customers consists of a lot more than just the shipping rate. It’s the shipping rate + costs for the use of the online shipping platform, the cost of storage, the thick double layered cardboard box and the fulfilment of the package. 

People often compare our rates to the rates they pay when they ship something to someone, unfortunately those rates are not applicable to our rates. Other companies might ship for less and they probably have some costs covered by their products. Or they have a different cost structure. We do not make money off shipping.

When can you offer free shipping?

To help our SHOSU friends in the EU and UK we have a coupon for free shipping, if you spend more than 100 euros, you’re entitled to it. Coupon code: FreeShippingInEUandUKover100

And what about the US and the rest of the world?  They would like cheaper shipping rates too!
Actually, we lowered them a bit recently, but we haven’t come up which the big discount the European SHOSU friends get. We expect to do so when COVID is done. At this moment, the rates are just going up instead of down. We are also talking to a possible US partner, so we can ship locally. For now, please order smart; when you order more in one go, the rate goes down per toy.

What is the shipping price for my country?
Because we ship worldwide, the shipping prices vary. If you fill in your address in the check out, the shipping price for your country pops up.

What if I think my package is lost?
First of all, check the last email we’ve send you for the latest status update. If that doesn’t answer your question, please send an email to shop@shosu.nl with your order number and please describe the problem.

What if I’m not satisfied, can I return my toy?
We sell adult toys so there’s a couple of hygienic reasons we’re careful with taking back toys but of course you have product guarantee when it’s a factory fault. Please read our ‘Returns and Refunds’ policy. https://shosu.nl/returns-and-refunds/
